Congratulations to our Under 13 Hurlers who won the Roinn B County Final in Semple Stadium.

In an epic encounter the boys from St. Colmcille’s defeated St. John the Baptist P.S., Cashel on a score line of 3:11 to 3:4.

Man of the Match Jamie Morrissey contributed nine points, seven from play, and inspired his team to glory with points a young lad can only dream of scoring on the Field of Legends that is Semple Stadium..

Goals from Lyndon Fairbrother, Bodien Fogarty and Paddy Cadell all came at crucial times in the game and ensured that St. Colmcille’s will play in Roinn A next year for the first time in their history.

Conor Sheedy chipped in with an uplifting point from his own half at the start of the second half mark the start of the Templemore fight back to which Cashel had no answer. Radek Natkaniec worked hard throughout the game causing all kinds of difficulties for a tough and tenacious Cashel back line.

Captain Tom Murphy was immense at full back. He was supported there by Shane Doran who ensured goalie Andrew Ormond was well protected in the second half.

The future too looks bright will super performances from the younger members of the team who still have two years left to play at this grade. They are Ciarán Byrne and Hugh Maher.

Well done to all involved, in particular the coaches Mr. Denis Kelly, Mr. Conor Doyle and Mr. Michael Delaney.
