On Thursday we were delighted to welcome back to St Colmcille’s brothers Alan and Colin O’ Riordan who were members of the Tipperary Minor Football team which won the All Ireland Final. A huge cheer welcomed Alan and Colin into a packed hall as they carried the Tom Markham cup through the school doors. Along with Alan and Colin were Jordan Moloney and Thomas Morrissey (also past pupils) who were part of the Tipperary U-14 team which became Munster Champions for 2011. Accompanying the players were minor selector Fearghal McDonnell, representing J.K Brackens club chairman Mick Byrne and Tom Collum and some members of the Friends of Tipperary football group.
