Congratulations to our Spikeball team who won the Regional Finals in Kilkenny today and therefore qualify to play in the All Ireland finals later this month.
The six boys played six games and only improved as the day went on. Having won their first mach against Callan, the boys came undone by a mere one point when they lost to fethard 20-19. However they rallied to beat Dunamaggin, Clerihan and Gaelscoil Thurles. This set up a final with the only team to beat them – Fethard! However revenge would be sweet as the boys in green won the final on a convincing score line of 21-10. This is the school’s first ever time winning at this level of the competition, going one better than last year.
They now progress to the All Ireland finals in Mary Immaculate College, Limerick on 22nd March. We wish them well!
