On the 2/10/17 St.Colmcille’s P.S Templemore played Gaelscoil Dúrlas in the first round of the U-13 Roinn A Gaelic football.  As the St. Colmcille’s team sat down on the bus we were told not to be fooling around or being giddy on the way to Thurles. When we arrived at Páirc na Nóg we got togged off and had a team talk. After the team talk we went out and did a few drills. Then we went into the huddle and Mr. Doyle said his few words before the match. The first half was a cruise for St. Colmcille’s P.S as the free transfer man David Kinane showed no mercy to Gaelscoil Dúrlas on this debut as he scored 3 goals in the first half. Also on the score sheet were Ned Delaney rattling the net and the accurate free taker Jamie Ormond doing his bit too. The half time score line was St. Colmcille’s P.S Templemore 4-5 to Gaelscoil Dúrlas 0-0.

In the second half we knew that Sean Everard would give Gaelscoil a bit more but we were told to not complain. It was a tougher half as Gaelscoil Dúrlas got a few scores but goals from Michael Cahill and Ned Delaney and points from Ned Walsh, Daniel McAlister, Jamie Ormond and Ned Delaney, aided by an outstanding save from Eoin Collins, some brilliant passes from Daniel McAlister and excellent work rate from the whole team got us over the line with a fulltime score line of St. Colmcille’s P.S Templemore 6-8 Gaelscoil Dúrlas 2-1.
