Having dedicated her life to education, Mrs. Anne Hogg retired on 29th February 2012. Pupils, parents, Board of Management and staff, past and present, attended a special assembly to mark this momentous occasion.

Children performed songs, recited poems and presented Mrs. Hogg with flowers, a tree and a portrait drawn by Luke Ormond. A specially commissioned rap and song brought a smile to everybody’s face, as we reminisced about Anne’s twelve years in St. Colmcille’s.

Ms. Caroline Glennon spoke of Anne’s love of Music and her ability to teach children to sing and perform. Ms. Maura Bergin acknowledged the contribution which Anne has made to Special Education. Michael Maher, past Principal of St.Colmcille’s, suggested beatification for Anne and described some of her work as miraculous. Gifts were presented by the Parents’ Association, Staff, Board of Management and Pupils.

This was a special day for Anne and all in St. Colmcille’s and while there were tears shed, there was also much laughter and enjoyment as we celebrated the contribution Mrs. Hogg has made to the pupils of Templemore.

We wish Anne many years of happiness and thank her for all that she has given us.
