On Wednesday 2nd of October the primary schools cross country took place in Thurles Crokes A.C.,Nenagh Road, Thurles. Mr. Kelly and Ms. Hasset took 3rd and 4th class ( Luke O, David Q, Jordan C, Kane C, Brian Q, Sean C, Tom D, and Marty V) and 5th and 6th class (Conor C, Jack N, James C, Eoin Q, Marco Q, Lorcan R, Diarmuid D, and Martin B) to the event. It started at 10:30 am.
At 1:00 pm 3rd and 4th class ran in race number 22. Luke Ormond was the first St.Colmcille’s man to finish in 5th place. The rest of 3rd and 4th class did well and the team came 4th overall.
Next up was the big boys from 5th and 6th class running in race 28 at 1:45 pm. First in for the team was Conor in 2nd followed by Lorcan in 3rd Marco in 4th, which was great for him because he fell at the start and did well to catch up. Next in was Jack in 5th James in 6th Eoin in 11th Martin in 16th and Diarmuid in 17th.
This fantastic effort won then team gold for St Colmcille’s.
We enjoyed the day which was fun and competitive. The Brave ‘White Kenyans’ ran faster than lightning.
