On Sunday 1st March I went to Nenagh to compete in the boys under 13 Indoor shot Put. It started at 2 O’clock, there were 16 boys competing and we all threw a 2.0kg shot.
Each of us got 3 throws and the top 8 got into the second stage. At this point I was in the lead so I threw last. The remaining 8 people had 2 more throws. Once everyone had thrown their 6 shots the final results were announced.
The 3rd place shot was 9.63m, the second place was 10.31m and I won the competition with a throw of 11.31m. This broke the Munster record set in 2007 which was 11m.
The top 3 from Munster will compete in the All- Ireland finals in Athlone on the 22nd of March and I am really looking forward to it.
