First Class went on a nature walk to the park to be Autumn detectives with Ms. Hassett and Mrs. Quaid. We looked at all the leaves on the ground and on the trees. We saw that the leaves were changing colour. The leaves we saw were red, orange, brown, yellow and some were still green. We looked at all the different trees and talked about their leaves. We also saw some pine cones and conkers. After a while we went deep into the woods to do an Autumn scavenger hunt. On the way out of the woods we saw lots of ducks and swans.
Back in our classroom we used the leaves to make leaf rubbings. We put the leaves under a sheet of paper and then we rubbed chalk on the paper to make the leaf pattern.
