St Colmcille’s v’s GaelScoil
Today St. Colmcille’s faced Gaelscoil for the second time this year in a playoff. The weather was perfect. The match was on in the Park. St. Colmcille’s team arrived at the Park around 5 past 12. The match started at quarter to one. The referee was Paddy Kenny.
Gaelscoil got off to a great start and it felt like ages before we got on the scoreboard. At half time Gaelscoil led. I remember hearing our school cheer our team on. With 6 minutes left we were down one point when we got a free. Brian kicked the free and it went over the goalkeepers head into the back of the net. The final score at the end of the match was 3.7 to 2.6 to St. Colmcille’s. At the end I remember when “Dotsie” lifted me up off the ground with sheer delight that we had made it into a County semi final.
