Well done to Mikey, Paul, Ned and Tom who won the Mid Tipperary GAA Quiz for the second time in two years for St. Colmcille’s last Sunday night in The Ragg. The boys won after scoring 52 out of 64 in a tightly contested quiz. It took a tie breaker to separate them from Loughmore who also finished on 52. the boys now progress to the county final next Sunday in Thurles. Well done also to Eoin, Brian, Tom and Jamie who finished a respectful 12th on the night.

On Sunday the 27th of November at seven o clock, two teams from St. Colmcilles went to The Ragg to compete in a GAA quiz. There were twenty five other teams from Mid Tipperary schools taking part. Caitriona Maher was the Quiz master. Andy Ryan set out the questions. He made eight rounds of eight questions. The questions were about hurling, football, camoige and Ladies football.

At half time, my team was two pints off the lead. We were worried because the other teams were doing really well. It was tense at the end of the quiz while we waited for the scores to be announced. Jamie, Brian, Eoin and Tom did really well to finish twelfth. Our team was in a tie breaker with Loughmore to decide first and second place because we both scored fifty two points. I was nervous going up to the stage for the tie break question but luckily we came out on top. I was delighted to be on the winning team. Mikey, Paul, Ned and I each won a plaque and a gift voucher for Lar na Pairce.; We also retained the trophy that St. Colmcilles won last year. Now we go on to the County Final in Thurles Sarsfields Centre next Sunday night
