Well done to the 28 boys who competed in the county cross country.
The 3rd and 4th class team won team bronze after a wonderful display of running.
Thanks to everyone who helped the teams prepare and well done to all the pupils who took part in the athletics training this September. Each pupil improved on their personal best time over the 800m and 1000m distance and we hope now that some of them will be inspired to join the local athletics club and continue to enjoy running.
A day of races and medals.
On the 3rd of October me and the cross country team went to Thurles crokes. The teachers that went with us were Mr Kelly and Miss Bergin. We left at 9:30 and at the Thurles crokes at 10:00.After waiting about twenty five minutes it was Third and Fourth classes race (which was race four). When their face was done we had a snack, watched other races and lining up for the Fifth and Sixth race it was our race. I got off to a good start but almost tripped half way through so that took me 20 places back. We did good enough Zac came the best in our school which was twelfth. Dale Hogan won an individual medal (by coming sixth) and Third and Fourth won a bronze team medal. Fifth and Sixth didn’t win a medal by coming sixth. Are race number was number thirteen and thirteen is an unlucky number.
It was a great day all the same.
