Having won the All Ireland title last year, our two Spikeball team traveled to Thurles last Thursday to begin the defense of their title.
Two teams are selected from Tipperary to represent the county at the Regional finals each year. This year those two spots will be filled by both St. Colmcille’s team, the Templemore Devils and the Templemore Recruits. This is a marvellous achievement and a first for the school. Both teams won their five games to secure both qualifying positions. Fethard, Ballyneale and Clerihen provided the opposition but the boys in green ran out easy winners in their final games, winning by 10 points.
We wish them well in the Regional finals where they will face opposition from Kilkenny, Waterford, Laois and Carlow.
