The U13 Cumann na mBunscol hurling season began last Friday with the visit of Scoil Ailbhe to Templemore.

The game was tough and tight throughout. Scoil Ailbhe had the first 4 points on the board before the boys in green really got going. However their awakening was sharp, sudden and decisive. Three goals in five minutes turned this game on its head and put St. Colmcille’s in the driving seat.

The second half was an even contest but those early goals proved the difference as St. Colmcille’s ran out 5 point winners on a scoreline of 4-7 to 2-8.

In total 44 players togged out for St. Colmcille’s  and all 44 played either in the first game or the exhibition game which followed.

A bright start to the season but there is a long road ahead and plenty of training to be done over the next few weeks.
