It was a good enough day for running. We then found a place to sit for the day.

The first race of the day was Richie’s. He took off very fast and Mr. Kelly could hardly keep up. Richie came in a very deserved first place and everyone cheered.

The next race was the third and fourth class race, they went over to the start line and were ready to go. They got off to a very good start and everyone was cheering. They finished very strong, the top three were Roy [who came eight], Jack [who came eleventh] and Seán who came fourteenth].

The last race of the day was the fifth and sixth class. We also got off to a good start and Paul Sage got off to a very good start. I tripped up and so did Jamie but we got back up! Dayle Hogan was first home [who came ninth], next was Ryan [who came thirteen] and third home was Dylan [who came fourteenth]. I came seventeenth but I felt I could do better but you can’t always have everything. Dayle, Roy and Riche got individual medals. Both teams came third. It was good experience and it was a successful day for the school.

By Oscar Duggan

On the 26th September the Cross Country team went to Thurles for the races.
