On Thursday the 24th of March it was a big day for our U11 B team. We were going to Cashel to play a county semi- final. When I got to school I talked to my friends about the match. We were all looking forward to the match as the winners would qualify to play in Semple Stadium where all the greats have played.\u00a0<\/p>\n
First thing we went into the halla and Mr. Healy started the day with a prayer. \u00a0After that we went to our classroom and we read from 9.15am to\u00a0 9.45am, next Irish from 9.45am to 10.20am, finally English from 10.20am to 11.00am.\u00a0 At last it was small lunch.<\/p>\n
The Under11 B team went out for a few pucks.\u00a0 Eventually we got our gear bags and lined up at the gate waiting for the bus. Sitting on the bars chatting away, still waiting. Finally the bus came and\u00a0we\u00a0 were\u00a0 soon\u00a0 on\u00a0the\u00a0 road to Cashel King Cormacs ground. As we were on\u00a0 the\u00a0 road\u00a0 Owen Longstaff\u00a0 was\u00a0 telling\u00a0 us\u00a0\u00a0 funny\u00a0 and\u00a0 scary\u00a0 stories . The sun was shining outside and it was going to be very hot on the playing field. At last we\u00a0 arrived in Cashel .<\/p>\n
All\u00a0 of\u00a0 us\u00a0 got\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 bus\u00a0\u00a0 and\u00a0 Mr. Kelly lead us into\u00a0 the\u00a0 dressing room. While\u00a0 we\u00a0 were\u00a0 getting dressed\u00a0 Mr. Kelly\u00a0 called\u00a0 out\u00a0 the team, my name was called out for wing back and I was delighted when handed the green jersey. We went outside and we saw Carrick playing St. Peter and Paul\u2019s. We were playing Scoil Ailbhe .<\/p>\n
We warmed up at the back of the goals doing a few drills and pucking the ball to each other. We had not long to wait to face our opposition. All matches were 10 minutes aside. We were unlucky to be beaten by Scoil Ailbhe in the first match, every one on the team gave their best. The ball was travelling on the ground as it was very hard and the sun was really hot.<\/p>\n
Next we played Carrick and Mr. Kelly gathered us in and gave us a Toomevara pep up talk as we were disappointed to lose the first match. This was a close game with chances on both sides, we were unlucky to concede a goal and got beaten again.\u00a0<\/p>\n
We faced into our last match and again did our best against St Peter & Pauls who were lucky to beat us. We all appreciated the hard work and time Mr. Kelly put in to training us and look forward to next year. It was time to head home and I was thrilled to end up in McDonalds with my brother Niall who was also on the panel.<\/p>\n
