{"id":731,"date":"2012-10-17T14:40:38","date_gmt":"2012-10-17T14:40:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stcolmcillens.scoilnet.ie\/blog\/?p=731"},"modified":"2012-10-17T14:40:38","modified_gmt":"2012-10-17T14:40:38","slug":"gerrard-siggins","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/stcolmcillens.ie\/index.php\/2012\/10\/17\/gerrard-siggins\/","title":{"rendered":"Gerrard Siggins"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Wednesday 10<sup>th<\/sup> October, fifth and sixth class went to see Gerrard Siggins, author of \u2018Six after Six\u2019, \u2018Green Days Cricket in Ireland 1792-2005\u2019, \u2018Lansdowne Road\u2019 and his first children\u2019s novel \u2018Rugby Spirit\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>5<sup>th<\/sup> and 6<sup>th <\/sup>class and their teachers Mr. Kelly and Mr. Doyle had an early lunch at 12:30 and we left for the library at 12.50 .When we got there, Pat the librarian led us to our seats, then Pat went and got Gerrard Siggins.<\/p>\n<p>Gerrard came in, introduced\u00a0 himself and welcomed us. He got the show on the road by telling us about all his books and letting us in on a wee secret. He read some paragraphs out of the book \u2018Rugby Spirit\u2019. We had been reading it in class for the three weeks previous.<\/p>\n<p>In the end he let us ask some questions and he answered them as best he could, without\u00a0 spoiling his books. Gerrard finished by giving us some autographed colouring sheets. Gerrard Siggins is a great author and I would highly recommend him to anyone who has an interest in sport.
